Tackling Obesity Together

A brain cell that stops over-eating has been identified by scientists, paving the way to potential new anti-obesity treatments. Scientists at John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Maryland, United States, found the cells, in a small brain region, which was already known to send and receive signals related to appetite and food intake. Studies showed that if switched off it caused overeating, but when the cell was restored the mice started eating 25 percent less.
